How to Promote Yourself and your Business... Create your perfect Elevator Pitch!

Updated: Oct 17, 2021

This is something that is essential for you to prepare in advance if you are an entrepreneur or even if you need to network regularly for your job. Networking is a vital part of doing business and is defined as the action or process of interacting with others to exchange information and develop professional or social contacts. The great thing is that you can spend time (and get help if needed) to create this and then practice it regularly – so that whenever you have the opportunity, you will have the confidence to deliver your pitch.

The idea of creating, practicing and delivering your elevator pitch is that you are able to provide a clear summary of your business in the time it takes to take a ride in an elevator – giving you between 30 and 60 seconds only.

How do I create my Elevator Pitch?

Simply, complete the gaps...

  • For __(target users/ audience)

  • Who suffer from/ suffers from (what problem are you solving for them? What reason do they have to buy)

  • You offer (what product/service are you offering?)

  • That provides (key problem solving capability)

  • Unlike (the existing alternative – what makes you different)

  • Your product (describe the benefits... NOT the features )

The idea is that you have to make your product or service sound as appealing as possible to whoever you are talking to in a very short amount of time.
